Michaela Franklin

Executive Director

A Nebraska native and seasoned leader in collegiate athletics, Michaela Franklin brings nearly two decades of experience building high-performing teams and advancing equity in sports. A former collegiate volleyball athlete, Michaela has spent her career coaching, recruiting, and leading programs rooted in excellence, integrity, and opportunity.

As Executive Director of EPIC for Girls, Michaela draws on her deep understanding of athletics, strategic planning, and community engagement to strengthen partnerships and expand access to sports for girls in underserved communities. Her leadership is grounded in the belief that athletics can be a powerful catalyst for confidence, connection, and long-term success—on and off the court.

Markeshia Grant

Program Director

Markeshia Grant is a visionary program designer, accomplished leader, and strategic connector with a deep commitment to equity-centered youth development. She has built and led high-impact programs rooted in mentorship, leadership development, and measurable outcomes that expand opportunity and transform experiences for young people.

A former University of South Carolina basketball player under legendary coach Dawn Staley, Markeshia brings national-level athletic experience alongside deep expertise in curriculum design, youth engagement, and impact measurement. As Programs Director at EPIC for Girls, she leads the development and implementation of innovative programs that center representation, access, and confidence—bridging communities, partners, and systems to ensure girls not only participate in sports, but truly thrive through them.
